Terms of Reference
- Specifically, the consultancy will deliver practical, evidence-based recommendations to:
- Identify priority sectors and livelihood pathways that are accessible, safe, and socially acceptable for adolescent girls
- Align Skills4Girls training interventions with local labour market demand
- Address structural and gender-based barriers to girls’ participation in education, training, and employment
- Inform the design of context-sensitive and scalable interventions that strengthen employability, entrepreneurship, and financial inclusion.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Master`s Degree in one of the following fields: An Advanced University Degree in Economics, Statistics, Education, Gender and Development, or other fields.
Work Experience:
- Minimum eight years of experience in economics, labour market research, skills development, or girls’ and women’s economic empowerment programming
- Demonstrated experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research
- Experience working on adolescent and youth-related programming
Skills:
- Strong expertise in gender and social inclusion analysis
- Knowledge of Nigeria’s labour market, education and skills development systems, and policy environment
- Strong analytical and report-writing skills
- Experience working with UN agencies or development partners
- Ability to engage with government stakeholders.
Language Requirements:
- Fluent in English
- Knowledge of Hausa
- Desirables:
- Experience working in northern Nigeria
- Familiarity with UNICEF programmes and systems.
